We have worked very hard since we started Elliot Brown to build our watches tough and rugged, ready to take on whatever is thrown at them. Almost immediately they were adopted by adventurers who test their own limits and expect their gear to be just as adaptable from the everyday to the extraordinary. We are guys and we went with what we know in this respect but we found, again quite quickly, that the fairer sex was a bit green eyed about the watches we were producing on the wrists of the guys.
There are ladies who wear the watches we have produced to date and love them, but at this point in time (no pun intended!) Elliot Brown is now at the stage where we are able to produce our first ladies collection that been in the works for a while called the Kimmeridge.
In stores and on our website in June, there are nine styles full of our distilled learnings and packaged up in a smart ladies case named after our favourite south coast surf spot. There’s a selection of wristbands that compliment the watches, varying from solid-link and softtly cooloured leathers to Milanese bracelets providing something for every occasion.
As Kimmeridge models are Elliot Brown’s through and through, they have been tested by us and most of the ladies we know. We engaged adventurers Lizzie Carr, who completed a 400 mile solo paddle boarding expedition along the length of England’s waterways, and Sarah Outen MBE, the first woman and the youngest person to row solo across the Indian Ocean, to represent the active wrist wear collection as ambassadors.
Both Lizzie and Sarah are amazing individuals doing amazing things and completely represent the brand’s ethos so we were thrilled to ask them to test the watches for us and get some honest feedback about the design and build.
We launched the Kimmeridge through our friends at Watch Pro on their site and through Twitter.
