One of the things I remember vividly growing up in Cumbria was watching the local news on Christmas Day and hearing that a Mountain Rescue team had been called out to rescue someone in distress on the fells. The one day of the year when almost everyone is enjoying having a day off with their family, the men and women of Mountain Rescue dropped what they were doing, got kitted up, and went out in appalling weather to go and help someone.

Over the years, that memory grew into a quiet goal to give something back to the people who help us to enjoy the outdoors safely.

So we contacted Mountain Rescue England & Wales and pitched our idea: a specially designed watch that could raise funds for the teams and raise awareness of this highly deserving cause.

We agreed it should be a desirable, fit-for-purpose watch that the wearer would enjoy and trust. Not too obvious, and with the sort of rugged dependability that MR team members expect from all their kit.

This is the result.

A precision brushed case, deep etched custom MR caseback, subtle grooved dial with strong contrasting Superluminova hands, and red-tipped seconds hand for a nod towards the MR colours. Each one comes fitted with an oiled, full grain leather deployant strap with contrast white stitching, and a custom black ballistic nylon webbing strap is also included in the box.

It retails at £385 and from that, we donate £36 straight to Mountain Rescue England & Wales.

But if you’re a Mountain Rescue England & Wales team member, please get in touch, and we’ll give you a direct sales code to enable you to purchase one at a significant discount, as our way of saying thanks for keeping us safe.
