These watches are built individually to order and will not be available commercially to members of the public.
From every watch sold, Elliot Brown will donate £50 to a charitable fund used to benefit the FAA directly.
This ordering page will be available until midnight on 9th April 2018, after which point it will be removed and no more orders can be accepted.
Please read this page completely before placing your order, as it explains how to add your engraving, how to add a metal bracelet if you'd like one, and how to order more than one watch.
Production will commence immediately and before being certified fit for sale, every watch must pass a demanding series of tests and quality checks, including three separate pressure tests for water-resistance. This typically takes around 140 days, meaning we are expecting the watches to be built, tested, engraved, and ready by mid August 2018, at which point, we will check them over in our Poole workshop prior to despatching them.
Please note that if you change address between ordering and delivery it's important to inform us of your new address so that we can make sure your watch arrives safely.
If you have any questions about the watch or the ordering process, please email us at email@example.com or call us on +44 (0)1202 338600 during office hours.
ACNS (A & C), Rear Admiral K E Blount, is particularly keen to nurture the identity of the FAA, and has given his permission for the production and sale of this limited edition watch, sold exclusively to those who serve and have served in the FAA.
Permission for the use of FAA Wings insignia and Zig Zag pattern has been licenced to Elliot Brown (EB) by the MoD, for the purpose of this initiative. Through its subtle but clear use of FAA branding it is anticipated that FAA personnel will wear the watch daily with a sense of pride, clearly identifying them as belonging to the worlds’ finest Maritime Aviation Force.
Based on the ‘Broadstone’, the newest addition to the Elliot Brown range, this bespoke watch has been designed to exacting and precise standards so familiar to the business of the FAA.
Subtly featuring the FAA Wings on the dial, it also incorporates the familiar Zig Zag into the GMT hand. Both are also repeated on the caseback along with personalisation through the engraving of your name and service number.
Designed in-house at EB's office in Poole, it features a Swiss Quartz movement with a 3 year battery life and low-battery warning, as well as an internal rotating timing bezel. The dial and hands are bold and designed for maximum legibility in all conditions, day and night. The external bezel is engraved with 24 hour markings to be read in conjunction with the GMT hand, and sapphire glass is fitted for maximum scratch-resistance.
Every watch is pressure tested three times during production, with the final test being a pressure test in water at 200M/20 Bar for ten minutes. Only when the watch has successfully completed every test will it be assessed fully serviceable and passed for sale.
The dial is bespoke to this model and finished in dark blue with a sunray finish and printed with FAA Wings in a subdued grey at the 6 o’clock position.
The watch will be fitted with a bespoke dark blue rubber strap, with a black NATO strap also included in the presentation box. The strap is secured with single-sided screw-in bars with bespoke Torx-style heads, a driver is also included to enable rapid strap changes.
A heavy duty metal bracelet (pictured above) can be provided at a discounted additional cost.
If you would like your watch to be fitted with the metal bracelet, please add the watch to your shopping basket and then go back and add the matching metal bracelet STR-B07 to your basket too. You can then enter the code FAASTRP during checkout to apply the discount. Please note that both the FAA watch and the metal strap must be in your basket for the code to work. If you order a metal strap, your watch will be delivered with the metal strap fitted, with both the blue rubber strap and the black NATO strap also included in the box.
If you'd like to order more than one watch, please add one watch to your basket, complete with engraving, and then go back and repeat the process for the second watch. This will ensure that you're able to specify the engraving individually.
Once you've added both watches (and engraving) to your basket, if you enter the code FAAMULTI into the Discount Code box during checkout, that will discount your order by £100 as a thank you.
The FAA Broadstone will not be available commercially; it will only ever be made available to current and former members of the FAA. There is provision on each watch for personal details, up to 25 characters – This will include the Service Number of each person to whom a watch is sold; this will limit the chance of theft but more importantly limit the chance for profiteering through third-party sales online.
The Command Warrant Officer FAA will have a prototype available for viewing and he will take it with him on his visits, formal gatherings and FAA events. Former FAA personnel will be made aware via Facebook and other social networks.
There is a space for up to 25 characters (including spaces) in total on the caseback for your name and Rank/Rate/nickname etc. to be engraved free of charge. This will be engraved on one line in an arc around the bottom of the caseback on the flat brushed surface in the photos. The 25 characters will include your service number if you choose to include it.
Please enter a maximum of 25 characters (spaces and punctuation are classed as characters) into the box at the top of the page during the checkout process, and we will laser-engrave your watch during production. The font used for the engraving will match the font used throughout the watch design.
Please double-check the text before submitting your order, and if you are ordering more than one watch please clearly indicate which engraving text goes with which watch.
The text submitted in the message box will be engraved on your watch exactly as it appears in the box, so please make sure you are happy with it as we can take no responsibility for any errors.
